Chie began learning sitar from Mr. Yasuhiro Minamizawa in Japan,  in 2004. She received additional sitar training in Varanasi with Dr. Shravani Biswas from 2009 to 2019. Since 2019 Chie has been receiving tutelage from the renowned sitar maestro Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee of Imdadkhani Gharana.
